Dr SM Sibandze

Dr Sipho Masenjana Sibandze holds a Doctorate (PhD) in Land Resources and Political Science, Master of Arts in Political Sciences and a Certificate in African Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin, USA.  He also holds a BA Degree in Political Science and Education awarded with Merit from the University of Zambia, Lusaka.

 He is currently the Managing Director of Yati Tinsuka Takho, PTY (LTD) - a Photographic and Video Company.  His emphasis is portrait, wildlife, landscape and street photography. He is also working on two television documentaries in the next three years on four Kingships in South Africa and their contribution to nation building and development and the Nama People in the Northern Cape and Namibia.

Previously, he worked at the Department of Cooperate Governance and Traditional Affairs serving in the following different management positions: Acting Director-General for the Department of Traditional Affairs, Deputy Director-General, (Research, Policy and Legislation) for the same Department, Executive Manager on Secondment to the then Department of Provincial and Local Government (DPLG) Executive Manager responsible  for Policy, Research and Legislation for the then Department of Land Affairs, Senior Manager responsible for the same Department and in charge of the Tenure Reform Programme.

He has published a number of articles and papers individually and jointly with others relating to land, land tenure reform, African indigenous leadership pejoratively called traditional leadership, as well as socio-economic indicators of poverty in selected African countries.

Dr Sipho Masenjana Sibandze was and still is a member of the African Studies Association as well as the Wisconsin Alumni Association, University Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

Dr Sipho Masenjana Sibandze was appointed by the President as a Commissioner to the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers on 01 August 2016.
